Pharaoh and Sphinx as Chess Pieces in Ancient Egyptian Style

The ancient Egyptians, too, played board games, among them the famous senet. Had they already played chess, they would surely have been impressed by these wonderfully designed chess pieces in an ancient Egyptian style. Hieroglyphs and ancient Egyptian symbols decorate the figure of the pharaoh, who is depicted as the king with crook and flail. This massive, wonderfully finely gleaming set of figures contains 32 splendid, wonderfully detailed chess pieces, with antique-look figures of the pharaoh, his consort, priests as bishops, the sphinx as the knight, stelae as rooks and kneeling subjects as pawns. All the figures in this chess set are incredibly detailed and finely worked, right down to the symbols, the drawings and hieroglyphs, as are the finely gleaming pedestals on which the figures stand.

32 Hand-Made Metal Figures with Pharaoh and Sphinx

The chess pieces, made after ancient Egyptian models, are crafted in Italy and come with a "Made in Italy" certificate. Through the high-quality, antique-look gold and silver colours, they acquire an elegant, refined sheen. With these luxurious chess pieces, the figure of the pharaoh as the king is an impressive 12.5 cm tall, and that of the subjects as pawns is 7 cm tall, while the base of the impressive figures has a diameter of 3.5 cm. It is a magnificent and elegant set of chess figures, and for anyone fascinated by the history of Egypt and its pharaohs, it also makes a wonderful gift. These detailed figures are simply perfect for the game of kings. Through their size and the gleaming material, they also look exceptionally refined and decorative, so that they can be left on display as a representative showpiece all year round. As no chessboard is included, the set can be combined with a board whose square size matches the base. A chessboard is not included with this set of figures.
