MDF and cold-cast resin – the two material types
The boxes in this category split into two material types. The MDF models are covered with painted or printed paper, fitted with a magnetic closure and have a flat book form – clearly identifiable as a book sitting on a shelf, where they slot in alongside actual volumes without giving themselves away at first glance. The cold-cast resin models (polyresin) are hand-painted and read more sculptural and three-dimensional, including the box with dragon eye or the cat resting on magical books – pieces that work as standalone decorative objects in their own right rather than as concealed storage. Both types suit jewellery, cards or small personal items. Anyone after further storage will find related categories at Coffin Boxes and Chests & Treasure Chests.
