Incense sticks and backflow incense cones
Incense holders in hand-painted cold-cast resin – as elongated stick holders or as elaborate sculptures for backflow incense cones, where the smoke flows visibly downwards. Both forms also stand as standalone decorative objects in their own right, even without burning incense.
The motif spectrum is broad: classic gothic with Reaper, skull, skeleton, Baphomet and plague doctor; fantasy with dragons, gargoyle, Ent and Green Man; Wicca and esoteric with pentagram, witch's cauldron, lunar phases and Hamsa; nature-mystical with wolf and raven. Alongside these come licensed pieces – a Dark Souls III backflow holder in Fog Gate design and a Lord of the Rings model. Several individual pieces reach beyond the pure incense function: a skull backflow holder features built-in LED lighting with colour cycling, and a Reaper model combines incense cone holder and trinket box in one piece.
The material is almost consistently cold-cast resin (polyresin), with individual models in porcelain or wood. Incense sticks and cones are not included with most models – several backflow models contain 1 to 3 cones to start with. Anyone buying a backflow holder should note that the backflow effect requires special cones with a central bore – standard incense cones won't produce the effect. Matching incense is available under Incense; oil burners under Gothic Oil Burners.
Frequently asked questions about gothic incense holders
What's the difference between an incense stick holder and a backflow incense holder?
Incense stick holders are elongated bases for standard incense sticks, which sit horizontally. Backflow incense holders are designed for special backflow incense cones: the smoke flows downwards and creates a visible mist effect. Standard incense cones or sticks won't work reliably in backflow holders.
Are cold-cast resin incense holders suitable for incense use?
Cold-cast resin (polyresin) is a widely used material for incense holders and is designed for this purpose. As with all products involving open flame: don't operate unattended, use a stable heat-resistant surface and follow the notes on the individual product page.
Are incense sticks or cones supplied?
For most models, no – incense sticks and cones are available separately. Several backflow incense holders contain 1 to 3 backflow cones. The specific contents are noted on each individual product page.
Do standard incense cones work in backflow holders?
No – the backflow effect requires special backflow incense cones with a bore through the centre. Standard incense cones won't produce downward-flowing smoke and often don't fit into the holder's opening either.
