Body studies, yoga and classical mythology
An important motif grouping comes from the Body Talk Collection – bronzed nude figurines that depict the female body in resting, kneeling, reclining and seated poses. Posture, bodily line and proportion sit at the foreground. This grouping is rounded out by abstract and realistic yoga figures in various asana postures.
Alongside these, mythological and iconographic standalone figurines are represented: the Venus de Milo as a reproduction of the ancient original, Eve with serpent and apple in executions by Veronese and James Ryman, Leda with the swan as well as a mother-and-child figure. Through the bronzed surface, the female nude figurines read quiet and sculptural. As a result, form, posture and bodily line sit in the foreground – whether as a standalone piece on the shelf, in the display cabinet or as a quiet sculptural accent within the living space.
