Napoleon and Josephine as Chess Pieces in Zinc Alloy

From the figure of Napoleon, who stands pensively on his pedestal, through the draping of Josephine's clothing and that of the soldiers, to the saluting riders on the leaping horses and the victory column as the rook, these 32 hand-made chess pieces in fine zinc alloy are wonderfully realised. The detailed, medium-sized chess pieces in metal come with a "Made in Italy" certificate. The size of the silver- and gold-coloured figures is perfect for the game of kings. Napoleon as the king is 8.5 cm tall, and the figures of the soldiers as pawns are 6 cm tall. The medium-sized chess pieces have a base of 2.2 cm. The detailed chess pieces in metal, featuring Napoleon, Josephine and the army, make a wonderful gift for chess players who are also interested in the history of France in the time of Emperor Napoleon. They come without a chessboard.

32 Chess Pieces with Motifs of the First Empire

The complete set of 32 figures translates the classic game of chess into the imagery of the First French Empire. Napoleon and Josephine form the imperial centre, while soldiers, mounted figures and other militarily inspired motifs make up the two chess sides. The gold and silver finish makes the two sides easy to tell apart. In this way, the set of figures combines chess with a historical French motif and, with no board included, can be deliberately paired with a suitable chessboard.
