Unicorns rank among the most beloved motifs of the fantasy world – and as figurines they reveal surprisingly many faces: classic white and refined, playfully colourful or darkly interpreted through to gothic variants.

One motif, many stylistic worlds

What makes unicorn figurines so interesting as a collecting field is the breadth of the motif. Classically elegant depictions with flowing mane and upright posture sit alongside playful and colourful figurines as well as darker interpretations, which carry the unicorn close to gothic and dark fantasy territory. For anyone with a clear sense of which stylistic direction suits their collection, very different expressions of the same motif sit within reach here.

Recognised manufacturers and illustrators

Plenty of unicorn figurines trace back to designs from well-known names within the fantasy scene. Veronese stands for finely worked models with careful surface design. Nemesis Now brings characterful compact figurines into the range with its Cult Cuties line. Amy Brown, one of the most sought-after fantasy illustrators, supplies the template for romantically playful motifs.

For shelf, display cabinet and collection

Unicorn figurines work as convincingly as a standalone piece as they do as part of a growing collection. Busts stage the horn and mane as a sculptural motif, while full standalone models show the figurine in its full posture.
