A Bone-Coloured Skull with Mushrooms and Moss

How many centuries must this skull have lain in the forest floor for the mushroom spores to find their way not only through every existing opening but even through the bony crown of the skull? And now, of course, the question arises whether the mushrooms took any remaining knowledge with them as they went … Anyone who likes to enrich their kitchen with mushrooms may be rather cautious, but anyone who also appreciates the odd property of secret mushrooms will be delighted by this extraordinary piece of décor.

The 30 cm tall, 21 cm wide and 22.5 cm deep Gothic skull "Sporebound" is made of high-quality polyresin and is carefully hand-painted. Light-pink and violet mushrooms as well as green moss accents heighten the impression of a long-overgrown skull. The large piece is supplied in a suitably designed gift box.

Gothic Décor Between Transience and New Life

The interplay of skull, mushrooms and moss can be read as an image of transience and natural renewal. Many fungi break down dead organic matter and return the nutrients it contains to natural cycles. In this way, "Sporebound" combines classic skull aesthetics with a woodland and nature motif that suits dark fantasy, curiosity and mushroom collections particularly well.
