A "Poison" Label and a Skull as a Stopper

Hung on the wine rack or on the cupboard with the sweets in it, it will probably stop anyone from helping themselves to the supplies in secret. After all, the warning "Poison" is written large enough on this mysterious bottle with its skull stopper and the skull framed by baroque ornamentation.

The 9.5 cm tall, 5 cm wide and 4.5 cm deep Gothic hanging ornament by Nemesis Now is crafted in fine detail from carefully hand-painted polyresin and looks like a relic from a magical witch's apothecary. A black cord allows it to be hung from a shelf, a cupboard, a window handle or a decorative branch. The poison bottle is supplied in a matching gift box, which protects the ornament in storage and is also suitable for display.

Skulls and Distinctive Bottle Shapes as Warning Signs

Historic poison bottles were often set apart from ordinary containers by striking colours, unusual shapes or tactile surfaces. This made the danger easier to recognise even without legible labelling. Skulls and crossbones served as clear warning symbols too – a visual language that this Gothic ornament picks up decoratively with its bottle shape and skull motifs.
