A Dark Angel with Sword and Dragon on the Rock

Since the dawn of time, whenever the longest night of the year falls, the beautiful dark angel sets out on his journey to Earth as a guardian of nature and meets the ancient, wise dragon. The angel's huge pitch-black wings spread darkening across the sky. Only the sword in his right hand, forged like the jagged back of the dragon, shimmers mysteriously. In the dark night, the majestic dragon awaiting the angel, coiled high up on the old rock, cannot be spotted by human eyes. For only the dragon's eyes glow mysteriously; his scales are as dark as the night itself. With his wings spread wide, the beautiful angel lands, gently hovering, on the dragon's back. Only his long black hair still stirs in the breeze, and his gaze turns grave and resolute upon his surroundings. That the angel and the dragon share an ancient and trusting bond is shown too by the two horns on the angel's head, which look like the tips of a dragon's tail. Together the two watch over the longest night of the year, and as day draws near again, the beautiful angel vanishes among the last stars while the dragon withdraws for the rest of the year into the cave beneath the rock. Yet in the deepest memories of some people, the two legendary guardians remain forever alive, and so their story is carried on.

The 58 cm tall, 32 cm wide and 36 cm deep XL figurine "Blackwing Sovereign" is made of carefully hand-painted polyresin. Robe folds, dragon scales, spines, feathered wings and the rock base are all sculpted in relief. The angel's arms and wings and the dragon's tail are plugged in separately after unpacking. For display, a stable and sufficiently deep surface should be allowed for.

The Winter Solstice Between Darkness and New Light

In the northern hemisphere, the winter solstice brings the shortest day and the longest night of the year. After it, the days gradually grow longer again.
