The Egyptian cat goddess
Bastet ranks among the best-loved deities of ancient Egypt. Originally depicted as a lioness and related to the warlike Sekhmet, her image shifted during the Middle Kingdom: as a cat or woman with cat's head, she became protective goddess of the home and goddess of fertility, joy, music and festivities. Her attributes – the sistrum and the menat necklace – stand for this gentler side.
Figurines, accessories and decor with Bastet motif
The range shows Bastet both in pure feline form and as a female figure with cat's head – standing, seated or as a warrior in black-and-gold. Colour-wise the selection runs from hand-painted through bronzed to bronze-verdigris and copper finishes. Alongside the figurines, an incense holder, a goblet, a trinket box and a door knocker with Bastet motif are also available. Further Egyptian god figurines are available under Egyptian Figurines.
