Baphomet on the Stone Throne in Flowing Mist

Baphomet is a legendary figure, full of riddles and mysteries. Even the origin of the name Baphomet has not yet been precisely established, with many tracing it back to anagrams. He is generally described as a demon with a male body, female breasts, goat's feet and a horned goat's head with a pentagram on the forehead. The figure may have been influenced by the Egyptians and the Celts and combines opposites such as good and evil, human and animal, and woman and man. The Backflow Incense Cone Holder Baphomet is made of high-quality polyresin and then hand-painted, with great care taken over every detail. The bronze-coloured Baphomet sits cross-legged on a grey stone throne that looks as though it has been roughly hewn from the rock. The goat's feet peek out from the wide trousers. On his belly he bears a golden caduceus symbol, with the staff and the two snakes coiling around it. It can be seen as a symbol of fertility or as a union of various forces. The right arm of the Baphomet figure points to the heavens, while his left arm is turned towards the ground. This gesture carries great symbolism. On the one hand, it conveys the balance of good and evil, as well as of heaven and hell. And the balance of morning and evening, but also the balance of life and death – above all in combination with the torch on his goat's head. It is also a comparison of the microcosm, the human being, and the macrocosm, the universe. The female breasts on his male torso symbolise the balance of man and woman. The goat's head and goat's feet, too, are a counterweight to the human body and show the balance of animal and human. His wings and the otherwise earthbound body point to the balance of air and earth. On his goat's head he bears the symbol of a pentagram. This can also be seen at the back of the stone throne. The pentagram on the forehead, with one point upward (two points downward), is a protective symbol against evil. The pentagram behind his back rises with two star points upward (one point downward), thus forming an inverted pentagram that pays homage to evil. The incense cone holder is thus a work of art full of symbolism. Please note that this incense cone holder is intended for backflow incense cones. The beautiful smoke effect only occurs when using these special cones, which you can also obtain from us in our shop. The smoke drifts decoratively over the stone throne. To protect the surface from the falling smoke, please use a suitable heat-resistant base.
