Angel and Mermaid in an Impossible Love

A mermaid and an angel embrace in despair. They are bound by a strong love that not even their different elements can destroy. Yet the elements of air and water prevent them from ever living together. For the angel needs air and the mermaid water to survive. This impossible love leaves no heart cold. The 30 cm tall, 16.5 cm wide and 13 cm deep beautiful sculpture by the popular Australian fantasy artist Selina Fenech comes from Veronese's Studio Collection. Through her loving portrayal of “Impossible Love”, the artist has made us feel for the beautiful mermaid and the angel. From the foaming crests of the sea, the great wings of the angel, the scales of the long fish tail and the ribbon of fabric drifting as if through the waves, right down to the depiction of a strong yet hopeless love, this wonderful sculpture is made of high-quality polyresin. The fine bronzing and beautiful, restrained colouring give this very romantic angel figurine an elegant look. Let yourself, too, be enchanted by this striking love – even if it is, in truth, “Impossible”…

A Romantic Fantasy Sculpture by Selina Fenech

The Australian artist Selina Fenech is known for her heartfelt fantasy motifs of fairies, mermaids and angels, which Veronese brings to life as finely detailed sculptures. With its motif of two lovers separated by their elements, “Impossible Love” becomes an expressive symbol of a great, hopeless love – and thus a special gift for Valentine's Day, an anniversary or for anyone who loves romantic fantasy art and mermaids.
